There is a place where it all began.
Petricore is more than a house. It is a return to our roots, to the simple, authentic beauty of real things, and to a sense of time shaped by the rhythm of nature.

A return,
before it became a project.
Petricore was born from Andrea and Michela’s desire to create a special place of hospitality: somewhere to rediscover a different sense of time and reconnect with the natural and historical roots of this land.
For this project, they chose to bring the family home back to life — a place deeply connected to the history of the small hamlet where Andrea grew up. For him, this was never just a house. He grew up here, among the olive trees planted by his grandmother, learning that time can move at a different pace. For years, the house stood quietly, until the decision was made to give it a new life while preserving its memories and everything that made it authentic.
Petricore grew from a simple gesture: caring for what time has made precious.
Why “Petricore”?
Petrichor is the fresh, earthy scent that fills the air when rain falls on dry ground after a long period without rain.
It is a scent that speaks of waiting, of changing seasons, and of nature finding its rhythm again. We chose this name because it captures exactly what we hope to offer our guests: a moment to pause, away from the rush of everyday life, and rediscover a more authentic pace.

A garden that does not seek perfection.
Our garden is home to olive trees, fruit trees, wild herbs and little corners left free to grow naturally.
We believe in biodiversity and in the beauty of imperfection. That is why we chose not to create a uniform landscape, allowing each season to tell a different story.
No two visits are ever quite the same.

The veranda is our cinema.
There are no scheduled shows here.
There is the sound of leaves moving in the wind.
Swallows at sunset.
The scent of coffee in the morning.
Breakfasts that linger without watching the clock.
Summer evenings filled with warm light and conversations in no hurry to end.
This is our way of experiencing time.

We believe luxury is not about having more.
It is finally having the time to notice what is already there.
